The Position
Under limited direction of the Clinical Midwifery Manager you will perform the level 2 Registered Midwife position. You will:
- Demonstrate clinical leadership and expertise in midwifery-led continuity of care.
- Provide comprehensive care involving appropriate consultation, referral, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team approach. This includes providing a supportive educational environment to enable women and their families to make informed choices about their care.
- Promote midwives within the multidisciplinary team as valuable experts contributing to positive outcomes for women and their families and promote an environment that encourages both individual and team development.
- In consultation with the Clinical Midwifery Manager, demonstrate responsibility for human and material resources to facilitate the delivery of a safe standard of care for all consumers.
- Participate in the development and review of policy, procedures, quality activities, risk management and clinical meetings to build an environment of excellence in midwifery care.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
Essential Criteria
- Be currently registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- This is an on-call position and when on-call need to be available within 30 minutes of the hospital
- Must hold current drivers license
- Commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care
